There's a new powerhouse on the rise at Long Island Lutheran, and it's the Boys Baseball program. Under the leadership of Coach Shaun Manning, who is entering his sixth season at the helm, the Crusaders have achieved a historic milestone—four consecutive PSAA Championships, a program record.
Coach Manning has worked tirelessly to elevate the baseball program, expanding its reach beyond just the PSAA. In recent years, the Crusaders have steadily ramped up their non-league schedule, taking on tougher opponents not only from the Long Island region but from all across the state and beyond.
Now, in a bold move to further solidify their place on the national stage, LuHi has made the decision to separate from the PSAA and compete as an independent New York State school for the 2025 season.
This shift opens the door for a more challenging schedule, with several ranked opponents now on the horizon. Manning's ultimate goal is to position the Crusaders as top contenders on the national level, and this move is the first step in that direction.
We are incredibly proud of the program's growth under Coach Manning's leadership and can't wait to see what the future holds. The best is yet to come as the Crusaders continue to climb the ranks in the national baseball scene.
